Here are just some questions we've had that we are happy to answer. If you have additional ones, we'd love to hear from you and get those answered for you to.
Yes. Please provide your pet records, so I can ensure they are fully vaccinated. It's important to have them on a flea and tick preventative to keep ticks at bay. We live in a neighbourhood where there are deer and there are ticks. We also require a bortedella vaccination that is current to keep dogs protected.
The only time your dog will be let off-leash is if it's in an enclosed area that has a secure fence to keep dogs safe.
There is only one walker here at Camp Morrowfield. You'll always get Carly. She has no employees. Sometimes her neighbour or husband will join on a walk, but Carly will pick up and drop off and is the one engaging and working with your dog.
I board a small group of dogs. All dogs are fully vaccinated and friendly with dogs. They have free range of the house and when in the house we spend most of our time on main floor or on deck. We will do a bathroom break, then have breakfast followed by a morning walk, mid-day outing and a pm outing. Sometimes dogs or puppies need more pee breaks and that can be done too. Dogs are different and enjoy different things. Let me know what your dog loves so I can make it a most enjoyable stay for them.
A lot of dogs will sleep in our bed. We have comfy couches and some memory foam Orvis dog beds they are welcome to sleep on. I do have one medium crate that can be used if your dog uses a crate. Feel free to bring their beds and anything you think may make their stay more enjoyable.
Yes this is not a problem, and free of charge when boarding.
I will always try my best to accommodate. Of course advanced notice is preferred, but if you're a busy individual with an ever changing schedule, I'm happy to work with you.
I grew up with dogs and then owned my first dog as an adult in 2009. I also owned and operated a business in San Francisco from 2009- 2016. so 20 years+.
Where do you take the dogs when doing adventure outings? A: We are located in Squirrel hill and a 5 minute walk from Frick Park and 10 minute walk from Schenley Park and we love both those options. We like to hike, and visit the enclosed dog park, but also like to switch things up and when things are too muddy or park is not an option due to weather conditions etc, we will do neighbourhood walks. If there is more time to venture elsewhere, we consider other options too. We have enclosed options across the street, and will soon have an enclosed backyard as well.
I will always send and update and will include pictures so you know how your loved one is doing and the fun they are having.
When you sign up for walks, your dog takes one of my limited spots. If I can change the day to another day for you, happy to do so, but if not, you'll still be required to pay for that day your dog was scheduled. If you want to do walks on a more as needed basis, you're welcome to ask and if I can accommodate I will, but if full I'll will not be able to take your dog.
We realize that things like this happen. When you reserve a spot for your dog, that spot isn't given to anyone else which means that spot is held for your dog, and just as you depend on having that spot, I depend on that income so I need to depend on you to pay for the spot. Of course, if they are ill for a long time, and this is no longer feasible, we can discuss.
Yes. I like to ensure that all dogs are a good fit for both the dogs in my care and myself. I will give a 2 week trial at our regular rates and see how things go. If your dog is a good fit, I'm happy to reserve a spot for them. If your dog is not a good fit, I will let you know. I reserve the right to cancel walks if your dog turns out to be not a good fit at some point in the future.
If you give 48 hours notice, I will move your scheduled day to another day if possible. Boarding must be cancelled with a week's notice in order to not be charged.
This varies but could be up to 10 dogs.
I bring high value treats with me to get dogs attention. I do not use prong or shock collars to keep dogs under control.
I get to know the dogs really well and can often tell if something is off, or not right. I would definitely get in touch with you to inquire about your dogs health, and speak about options for your dog.
If your dog is good with other dogs, it's easy to integrate them in a pack. I introduce the dogs of the pack to your dog one by one, and once they are comfortable with that dog, we introduce another. When they are good with the dogs, we go for a walk and usually that is just the beginning of having a great group of friends.
We do like to bring toys like balls to the park, so if we stop in the dog run for play this may present an issue. Your dogs should not have resource guarding issues if they are with our adventure outing.
Doggy Daycare is fun! Your dog joins the outings and does a walk/hike/play. You'll get updates and pictures of our fun. They come home tired!
I have 2 French bulldogs of my own that get along with all dogs and have also grown up with a cat. I also have a husband named Wes that will come walking with me at times and 2 boys (10 & 14) that have grown up with dogs and love them.
